Counting a till in Saudi Arabia
The smallest Saudi coin is the halala, but it rarely appears in day-to-day trade — most amounts are handled in whole riyals. Notes are 1, 5, 10, 50, 100 and 500 riyals.
There's no formal rounding rule, but because halalas barely circulate, a small difference in the drawer doesn't necessarily mean a counting error.
The 500-riyal note is the largest and rarely appears in a retail till — check it and keep it separate before you deposit.
