Counting a till in the UK
The UK doesn't round cash. The 1p coin is still legal tender, so totals come out to the penny and your drawer should match exactly.
Old paper £5 and £10 notes stopped being legal tender years ago, and the £20 and £50 have gone polymer too. If you're counting notes that have been in a safe for a while, check they're current before you pay them in.
The £2 coin is the one that quietly adds up: a small handful is £20. Count those in stacks of ten and you'll halve the time the coin tray takes.
